Home again and a first round trip

Finally my motorbike is home again.

I picked up my bike Thursday evening from the winter storage where I had my bike. When picking up the bike we meet our friends who have had the bike store there as well and had a beer/wine together.

They have now closed down their shop. They received a good opportunity to take care of of a new open Harley dealers workshop not that faraway. This is off course sad but we understand them and wish them all the best. We will keep them as our bike service contact as we know you can trust them for 100%.

Yesterday I had my first round trip for a few hours. It was a wonderful ride with perfect weather (24°C) and I enjoyed it really much. I drove  around lake Constants and inland from there a little through some small villages and  country streets. In the end I made approx. 120km in a relaxing way with a few stops to stretch my legs and enjoy the nature.

When Diana came home we went and picked up our Volvo which been at the garage where they put on new summer tires.

When home again we had a apero with a nice Crémant before preparing our dinner which was new asparagus which I bought at a farmer close by when I had a short walk in the morning.

Diana and I tested to steam the asparagus  in our new combined oven/steamer for the first time.

There is a automatic program for steaming them, so it was quite easy. Just put the asparagus in the oven and start the program… and voila after 15 minutes they where finished and all of them al dente. Diana made to this a vinaigrette which fitted perfect. We hade a nice red wine from Piemonte to this wonderful dinner.

This made the day perfect.

Summary and thoughts

This week I would like to do a summary about me and homework. It is now one month.

Generally I like this way of working, but not five days a week. When working from home I missing the contact to colleagues at work. For me I would say three days a week from home and two at the office would fit me  the best.

But the biggest problem is that companies here in Switzerland have so little of experience with home office. The management fill up all our days with phone conferences.

After eastern we have reduced our weekly working time with 35% which have nothing todo with the workload in the company. This is only to get the state to pay the 35% of the salary.

Anyhow this means that we have less time to carry out or work. We have a lot of orders which must be produced but as it looks now most of them will be delayed.

When it comes to the meeting philosophy when working less hours. That haven’t improved at all.

It seems to be a generation or education problem, it seems to be cool to be on meetings and that this makes some people to feel important.

Meetings can be good but must then produce improvements..

To summarize my home office month I have mixed feelings for sure, but this might as well have to do that I am tired of this corona by now.

Still in the end I am a lucky one who are allowed to be outside without much of restrictions. What I miss is the freedom to shops or go to a restaurant, plus a hairdresser would be nice right now.

I wish Switzerland would open up as in Sweden.  I cannot see how this closedown will work. As we have no vaccine and might not have for a few years. Does all governments plan to closedown the world once a year until we have a vaccine and will the industry and people accept this once more?

I have only heard the Swedish authorities explain this straight out. As long we do not have no vaccine everyone must learn to live with the corona and respect it.

I am happy though that I don’t have it as in Italy, France, Spain etc.. I really feel for them and I wouldn’t stand it myself to have it like that.

So in the end I am and should be happy to have it like I have.

EASTER GREETINGS

As most of you guys know, Patrik and I would actually be in Loano since yesterday.

To be with Luna Azzurra and work as much as possible on her. The new sprayhood would be fitted, the length of the anchor chain measured (we still have no meter marks on the chain – yet) and a lot of other small things would have been accomplished.

Well, as instructed, we stay at home instead. At least the weather is fantastic, sunny and between 20 and 24 deg. C! Plus we keep Odin company and didn’t have to arrange for a cat sitter. Which is a good thing!

This afternoon we’ll go shopping again for my parents. So we get to get out nevertheless…

Anyway, we would like to send our best wishes to you all, stay well and enjoy the little things in life!

Have a gorgeous Easter Weekend!

Long Time No See

Hi there!

I’m not sure what your opinion is, but mine is quite confused.

Since three weeks my dad is at home. He’s doing something called “home office” and I reckon is has a lot to do that he’s in the office all day, sitting at his desk and looks busy! He wouldn’t play with me and it’s almost impossible to distract him (I tried it, believe me!)

My mum still leaves my house every morning and returns late afternoon. The evenings are as usual, they are cooking dinner and I get my meal in time…

I’m wondering if my dad’s strange behaviour has something to do with this creature called “Corona”…?! If so, it must be almighty, since the whole world is affected, according to the news in the radio. I tell you one thing, if I would catch this…..thing, I would simply eat it and the problem would be solved! Basta!

Well, well, my life is still as pleasant as always! I sleep a lot, inspect my garden every now and then and defend it if necessary! Apparently, there is a new cat in our area, a ginger one with a short tail. I guess he had an accident once. I’m not sure yet, if I like him or not….let’s see in a while!

Anyway, this Friday my dad did not his “home office” thing, but we worked in the garden instead! Boy, it was quite a lot we did: Emptying the pots from last years plants, filling the fountain with fresh water, clipping the huge pampas grass and we did a bit of weeding. Unfortunately, my dad didn’t accomplish all the tasks I’ve asked him to do, but he did well enough – I’m very pleased with him!

Today is Saturday and again it’s a wonderful, sunny and even warm day! So it looks like we’ll start our grill later this afternoon and open this years BBQ season!

Tomorrow we’ll take it easy I guess, sleeping a lot (me) and being in the garden, maybe reading a book (mum and dad)!

Take care all of you and watch out for that horrible Corona character!   Purrs   =^.^=
